  3. Victoria, is this gorgeous flower a wild flower? I love all flowers, but especially wild flowers. Thanks for sharing. It's been stressful here and I'm trying to catch up with my favorite blogs.

  4. Thank, Queenie.

ArtSings, it is a wildflower, native to Southern California and Northern Mexico. It likes sandy soil and arid conditions. Its Latin name is Romeya coulteri, common name is Matilija (pronounced ma-tilly-ha) Poppy. What the photo doesn't show is the spectacular size of the bloom; they can reach up to 6 inches in diameter.

  5. Such a painterly post -- the colors in white and the reflections of color. And what a gorgeous flower!
