Wednesday's Winding Road

This was taken coming out of Two Mile Road (Hwy 173) turning onto Highway 18 in February of 2013.  All the snow from our wonderful storm earlier this month is gone...I suppose there might be some left in Big Bear.  I know there's snow on the ski runs because our lows have been very, very cold.  Well, until the last couple of nights.  And our high today was 61 degrees!  In January!!  I hate Global Warming.

Oh, How I Wish...

...That my front walkway looked like this right now!  The candy canes, whose tops are just visible above the snow, are four feet high.  There was two and a half to three feet of snow on the ground when I took this in December of 2008.  Right now there's no snow, and it doesn't look like we'll get any snow (or rain) by Christmas.  Oh, well...

All Right, STOP IT!

This is a picture from last year. This is the way it normally looks in Big Bear, and here, too, at this time of year.

But, not this year. The ground is completely bare, no snow, no rain, no form of precipitation of any form.

So, I have a request for those of you in the south eastern United States, England, and anywhere else that is getting much more snow than usual. If any of you were, or are, praying for snow, please....STOP IT!

(Not that I seriously think that any of you are still doing this, but we're getting desperate out here...)
