Lots of clouds around this July, but no rain. I thought for sure it would rain today; the sky was very dark for several hours and thunder rumbled. I could smell the rain, but it wasn't reaching the ground. It's been too dry here for too long. The weather "experts" have been talking about an El Nino that
might occur this winter, which
may bring us lots of rain. I sure hope they're right. By sunset all the clouds had cleared out except for a few that stuck around to give us a pretty sunset. At least the lightening didn't start any fires and that's a
LOT to be grateful for!
A lovely coloured sunset! I like the silhouettes of the trees against it! It would make a great mural on a wall! I want to paint my walls and ceiling with trees and sky one day!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for that winter El Nino!
ReplyDeleteBelieve me i have my sights set on El Nino too! This is going on our third fall and winter in CA and i have yet to experience a 'typical' rainy season for this area. Both years have been abnormally dry.... Bring on the umbrellas and the boots! LOL! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteDear Victoria - will be looking up for rain for you. I hope you are right about El Nino. Beautiful sunset my friend. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura, glad you liked the photo.
ReplyDeleteVicki and Debbie, thank you for your rain wishes for us.
Deb, you and me both! Here's hoping we both need our umbrellas and boots all fall and winter...and into the spring, too.
Stunning example of dark and light, Victoria.
ReplyDeleteEl Nino is never good for us down here. It means that it will bring a more scorching summer, resulting in many fires. I'm shuddering.
NO...oh, no Vicki. I didn't know. Well, I can only hope we get the rain without an El Nino....
ReplyDeleteI wish for more mild summers and wet, life-giving winters - without the extremes. That is my wish for both northern and southern hemispheres :)
ReplyDeleteI like that wish, Vicki, I'll join you in wishing for that. I really miss the days when nature was more in balance for everyone.
