Early Autumn Roses

In a pumpkin-shaped cup.  I don't know what caused those odd, grayish shadows on the lace on the left side of the photo.  I kept looking at the photo in the camera, then at the lace cloth, then back at the photo.  The cloth had no shadows, but the photo did.  So I took another, then another...all the photos had shadows!  Must have been the camera pixies...

  2. It's the garden fae - those attached to the roses. We can't see them, but a clever photographer might be able to catch their shadow ;)
If you look closely, you can juuuust see a glimmer of a face peering out from the deep darkened gap between the roses and jug...

  3. Deb, those pixies cause a lot of mischief! I hope your temperatures cool off really fast. Our highs are in the 70's up here, with nightime lows in the high 40's.

You might be right, Vicki, but sometimes I think the garden fae work hand in hand with pixies; they both have a wicked sense of humor! You know, that does look like a little face...I bet they were having a good laugh at my puzzlement.
