Not many signs of spring yet, which is as it should be. It's been so abnormally warm (58 F today) here in these mountains, though, I'm sure spring will be here lots sooner than normal.
There were a few clouds around today at Lake Gregory...
along with various birds. Mr. and Mrs. Mallard
Ms. Mallard.
A seagull and, down in the left corner, a cormorant. I didn't see the cormorant until I uploaded the photo, so I missed the opportunity to get a close-up.
Far above the lake, a bald eagle soared...
while the selfish clouds hurried away to somewhere else without sharing any much needed rain.

Seasons are so messed up in the last years but we can learn to take the beauty as it comes. I really like your photos.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get rain soon!
ReplyDeleteLove your bird photos, always. A bald eagle would be a sight to see!
ReplyDeleteWe have wedge-tailed eagles, and I always get so very excited to see them.
Yes, I've been reading reports that in some areas of the North, spring bulbs are already in bloom!!
Too soon, for sure. And not enough rain for you there.
I must say, I will be glad when autumn rolls around. I've had enough of the heat.
I hope you do get some big rain clouds open up and drench your magic mountain a few more times before the seasons change.
xx
You have some beautiful shots of your pretty lake. How thrilling to see bald eagles! I've seen one here exactly once. It would be frustrating to watch the clouds drift away. We're expecting a large storm today, but nothing as yet. I wish I could send some of it your way. Been a mild winter here for the most part, just a few cold snaps this month.

A bald Eagle, well done. They are not easy to capture.

Ciao Victoria, what a wonderful blog you have!
ReplyDeleteThere are fabulous views in this post and in the previous ones - views a little bit like here in Finland, only yours are bigger and more handsome. :)
Love your header photo and the quotations in your sidebar. Have a lovely day!
Really amazing nature shots. Thanks for sharing your post with "Through My Lens"!

Dear Victoria- your photos are so beautiful. It has overall been a mild winter here. There are all kinds of signs that spring is almost upon us. The robins have returned and that is certainly a great sign. Hope you get rain soon friend.
ReplyDeleteNever been to Lake Gregory, although we used to have a cabin in Green Valley Lake. Pretty shots!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos -- but I'm sorry to hear that's it's too dry and too warm. The seasons are out of joint here too -- very warm one week and snowing the next.
