Faeries Friday - Morgana

I just got this little hand mirror today in the mail from Kirk's Folly.  They named her, so I'm sticking with that name even though she looks more like a 'Theda' to me.  (Please excuse the cat and dog hair on the black velour; you can't live in a house with this many fur babies and not have fur everywhere...sigh).

It reminds me of something that might have been created during the Art Nouveau period, sort of like the 'Belle de Nuit' pendant, ca 1900 -

I'm glad to have the little 'Morgana' hand mirror as I'm quite sure I could never afford anything that was really from the Art Nouveau period!

Faeries Friday - Lily of the Valley

This is the Lily of the Valley goblet (they named her) made by Kirks Folly. www.kirksfolly.com I think I've posted about them before, probably their wonderful moon wind chimes and moon and faerie jewelry.

I've collected a set of eight of these goblets over several years. Each one is different. Whoever designed them was very clever; the glass part unscrews from the goblet base and can go in the dishwasher! And, they made replacements for the glass part in case of breakage. I bought 20 replacement pieces because I use these goblets when I have faerie parties for my young great and great-great nieces and little fingers (even big fingers) aren't always the steadiest. I'll eventually post pictures of all of the goblets, if I can manage to get half-way decent photos. It's so hard to get the lighting right, plus I need to find my tripod. I didn't use it for these two photos, as I'm sure you can tell...

An October Moon

I was unable to get a picture of this month's full moon last night as it was overcast. But this is an October Moon if ever there was one! I have a collection of these moon faces (a Harvest Moon, a blue moon, an opalescent moon, etc.), which are made by Kirks Folly. They're sold on QVC and

and they're a good size, usually measuring between 4" and 6" across. Kirks Folly also makes beautiful jewelry with moon faces. All of their moons are hand made from glass and are just magical! If you love La Luna as I do, check out the websites. They also make other kinds of great jewelry and stuff for the home, like goblets (I'm trying to get a decent picture of my 'Season of the Witch' one to post on here) and windchimes.

Of course, my favorite part of this moon's decorations is the little black cat wearing her witch hat!
