Sunday Sunlight

Taken in February of this year.  It looks absolutely nothing like this here now...the snow that was still on the ground on December 21st is completely gone because we've had highs in the 40's and low 50's for the past several days!  This is the warmest December on record for these mountains, although the nights have been cold with lows in the 20's.  We've even been under a "Red Flag Warning," which means the wildfire danger is extremely high due to high winds (70 mph gusts) and dangerously low humidity.  I've lived here all my life, but I've never seen weather like this in December.

  1. Dear Victoria - gorgeous winter photo - maybe you will still get some snow in Jan. and Feb. Our winter has been up and down too and somewhat unlike other years. Hope you have a lovely New Year. Hugs

  2. Oh Victoria. Such a beautiful image. And one that I thought would be an everyday occurrence for at least another month or so.
I am concerned about the Red Flag Warning, and I truly, truly wish for it to pass without incident.

My thoughts are with you, and the beautiful inhabitants of your magic mountain.
May January 1st herald a cooler change and sighs of relief to you over there.

As it is New year's eve here now, I want to wish a wonderful 2014 for you Victoria. May your hopes and dreams come true, and may your days be sprinkled with angel dust and magic to keep you and yours all safe and well.

And... a kiss to Mrs Rose and family :)

  3. Thanks, Debbie, I'm glad you liked the photo. Crazy weather all over, I think. And, thank you for your wishes for it to snow here, I hope your winter weather returns to normal.

Vicki, thank you, I'm glad you liked the photo, too. And, thank you so much for your wishes for us to be safe from fire here. I know you truly understand, because Southern California and Australia both have such horrific troubles with wildfires. And, thank you for your good wishes for the New Year, and I'll be sure and deliver your kiss to Mrs. Rose and her children!

Debbie and Vicki, I hope 2014 is filled with blessings and joy for both you and yours...warm hugs to both of you!
