A Quote for Monday and Atchoo!

"Loveliest of lovely things are they
On earth that soonest pass away.
The rose that lives its little hour
Is prized beyond the sculptured flower."  William Cullen Bryant

The Fall Equinox brought me a nasty head cold, and how I wish it would soon pass away!  But it seems to be sticking around, although I am feeling better than I did last week.  At least my head doesn't feel like it's stuffed with oatmeal mush and some of my brain function has returned.  It seems like I am unable to think when a cold first hits.  Science invented the Internet and all sorts of other wonderful things...why can't it find a cure for the common cold?

  1. Oh, science knows a cure for the common cold - among other things. It's the drug companies that won't allow cures to be released.
It's up to us to turn to nature to help our bodies combat these ailments.
If you'd like some effective herbal remedies, Victoria, let me know. My family and I swear by them.

That apricot rose is a stunner.
Peach coloured roses are a favourite of mine. I miss my old rose gardens very much.

    Wishing you well soon xx

  2. Dear Linda - that is a great question...one I ask myself when I catch those silly things. Hope you are feeling better soon. Gorgeous rose - is it on that grows in your garden? Have a lovely day and hurry up and get well soon!

  3. Wonderful quote! When I am in the throes of a cold, I try to believe that somehow it's doing my body some good -- perhaps destroying and burning out some greater evil. Perhaps. But as you note, I'm working with diminished brain function..
