A Quote for Monday

"There is something in the Autumn that is native to my blood -
Touch of manner, hint of mood;
And my heart is like a rhyme,
With the yellow and the purple and the crimson keeping time."

From "Vagabond Song" by Bliss Carmen 1861-1929

He doesn't say anything about the orange, burgundy and gold, but they're all there, too...on the same tree!

  1. A very fitting verse for the photo :) I loved your Halloween memory btw ... I would have got out of there quick too! We had to walk w/o parents to all our country neighbours on Halloween night. I remember one guy had no lights on at his house, but the barn was sort of lit up and there was horribly eerie music playing from inside the barn (mostly sound effects with rattling chains and creaking doors). There were four of us together (my brother & sisters), but none of us were brave enough to walk to the barn, and I think we made good speed back down the driveway! Sometimes it's just TOO scary for kids. Wendy x

  2. Autumn is my favourite season! I love the colours of the leaves, the cool chill on the breeze and the feeling of change in the air!
