"Winter uses all the shade of blues there are.
One shade for water, one for ice,
Another blue for shadows over snow.
You know the blue jays double blur-device
Shows best when there are no green leaves to show
And Sirius is a winter blue-green star." Robert Francis, from Blue Winter.
Over the past couple of days we've had rain, hail and, finally, snow! We didn't get enough to end the drought, or even bring us up to a normal level of precipitation for the rainy season, but it all helps...
Wish that I too could see all the blues that Nature has in her palette.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that water in various forms have graced your corner of the world, Victoria.
Now, if we can just continue to wish more precipitation for a while longer, that would be ideal, before spring/summer begins.
Beautiful! Poor birdies!
ReplyDeleteEvery little bit helps! There is a lot of blue in winter, but I find it shows up best on those brilliant sunny days ... and we've been fortunate to have quite a few of those this winter :)
