A Quotation for Monday

"I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief...for a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free."  Wendell Barry

A red-tailed hawk with a brave little scrub jay voicing its opinion to the hawk.  I am happy to say that the scrub jay got safely away...

  3. Oh wow. You never fail to amaze me Victoria!

You've captured a rare moment. I'm in awe of nature in such a quiet moment of harmony.
Just being. And allowing to be.

And, the quote is a perfect accompaniment.

Through your eyes, we can see such wonderful moments via your camera. Thank you :)

  5. Vicki, thank you so much, it was a very lucky shot. I was focused on the hawk when the scrub jay flew in and posed!

  6. Vicki L, I'm happy you liked the photo. There are many, sadly, trees with white limbs up here. They're oak trees that have either died of natural causes or burned several years ago. But, to be beautiful in death is indeed magical.
