Some roses from my garden...

Some dogwood leaves that shouldn't be turning for at least another three weeks...
Some dogwood berries that shouldn't be turning yet either...

And some cattitude from Gloria, who was mad at me because I was gone all day!

  1. Victoria, I noticed on the news this evening that there are new fires on the San Jacinto Mountains. Are they in the same areas as the recent ones?

I hope you're not experiencing potential threat from these new fires. Is there alot of smoke about?

On a lighter note, those roses are gorgeous. Do they have an old rose scent to match their beauty?

And, I love Gloria poking her tongue at you!! Sweet.

Thinking of you and wishing a cool, wet change your way very, very soon.

  2. Vicki, one of them is in the same mountain range, but it's not close to the Idyllwild fire, which is now 100% contained.

The other one is near the little village of Wrightwood in the San Gabriel mountain range. It was, they think, started by arsonists yesterday shortly after noon. It's burned 150 acres so far and is only 30% contained. So far (crossing fingers) the smoke hasn't been too bad, mostly just a bad scent in the air.

I fear that if we have strong Santa Ana winds this fall all of Southern California will be in deep trouble.

Thank you for your rain wishes, they are very much appreciated!

  3. Forgot to say, the San Gabriels are directly to the west of us, while the San Jacinto's are to the south.

  4. I Googled Wrightwood in the San Gabriel mountain range... yet another stunningly lovely place. Those mountains! A dream for hikers.

I visualised rain over Southern California. And imagined a grey, wet day over your beautiful Lake Gregory.
If there can be some rain at least before the winds come, to keep everything damp.

May my wish come true for your beautiful land and all animals, birds and humans who reside there :)

  5. Awww, that cute little Kitty face.
Don't you just love cats !!!!
    Have a magical day.

  6. Gloria is precious. I'm seeing signs of autumn as well. Summer just isn't long enough.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, I appreciate it!
