A Quote For Monday

"The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event.  You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found?"  J. B. Priestly

We got a dusting of snow day/night before yesterday.  It's gone now, but the weather people are predicting a little more for this Wednesday.  I wonder if we'll ever have a real snowstorm (three or four feet over a couple of days) again.  We used to get those kind of storms three or four times a winter, in between snowfalls of just a couple of inches.  I miss them.

  1. Lovely photo. I find it hard to believe that tiny birds such as this can survive, and thrive, in such cold conditions. Nature is amazing!
Living over here, I can't imagine the magical feel that snow can bring. It must be heart lifting.
I wish and hope that you do, very soon get a wonderful drift of snow to make your magical mountain even more special at this time of year, Victoria. xx

  2. How strange it must seem to be in a drought in winter. I do hope you get more snow and that it continues. The photo is very cute, and I'm wondering if that is a junco. If it is it's a little different looking than the juncos we have here. We've had some very dark dreary days with rain which washed away all our snow. Wendy x
